About New Relationship
I arrived in the Philippines with
a backpack full of hope and a little bit of fear. It was my first time living
away from home for a long time. The bustling and colorful city of Manila,
specifically Sumacab, amazed me, but also felt alone. . The first few days were
quite tough. The language, the food, the way of communicating—everything felt
new. I even wanted to give up. But everything changed when I met some new
friends I made there.
They were so friendly, kind, and
like my own brothers. From then on, they were like a light in my gloomy days.
They patiently taught me basic Tagalog, helped me order food at local food
stalls, and even took me around town on a jeepney—a unique and colorful
Filipino vehicle that was definitely my first time riding one.
Younger than them taught me how to
live a relaxed life but still appreciate time, something that is very typical
of Filipino culture, He taught me a lot of new experiences, introduced me to
his very friendly family, and showed me that friendship can grow from cultural
differences.
We often sit together until late
at night During leisurely days and holidays, talking about life, dreams, and
future plans, exchanging experiences, cultures and many more things we do
together. I feel like I found a new family far from my homeland.
Now, after living here for about 1
month, I can not only speak a little Tagalog, but also feel like I am part of
this place. . True friends sometimes come at unexpected times, in strange
places. They are not just my friends in the Philippines—they are brothers who
were brought together by fate.
