About Me

Hi My name is Arindhani Pinasti Rahayu, Student of Tunas Pembangunan University Surakarta, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Physical Education Study Program, 6th semester. Here I will tell you a little about how I joined the Sea Teacher program to the Philippines at the Nueva Eciha campus of the University of Science and Technology and interned at a school called San Josef National Hing School. Happy reading and hopefully inspire each other

Let me introduce myself, my name is Arindha, I am very grateful to be able to share a little story about my journey for the past month in the Philippines. I am a person who loves to learn new things, explore places I have never been to, and meet people from different backgrounds. That is why, when I got the opportunity to live for a month in the Philippines, I immediately welcomed it with enthusiasm.

During my time in the Philippines, I not only gained new experiences in my daily life, but also many valuable lessons that I could not have gotten anywhere else. I learned about the local culture that is so rich and unique—from mouth-watering local foods, to traditions and customs that are very interesting to understand. I was also very impressed by the friendliness of the Filipino people who made me feel welcome and comfortable, as if I was at home.

In addition, I felt very happy to be able to build new relationships while I was there. I met many great people, be it fellow program participants, local residents, or colleagues or volunteers who were involved in the activities I participated in. Interacting with them opened my horizons wider to different perspectives, and enriched my understanding of social and cultural life in the Philippines.

This experience really made me realize how important it is to build relationships between people and how valuable a journey that takes us out of our comfort zone is. I feel more developed as a person, more open to differences, and more confident in adapting to new environments.

A month in the Philippines was not just a passing time, but a very meaningful part of my life journey. I hope to return someday, bringing more curiosity, and of course, longing for all the beautiful things I experienced there.

I am very happy that the students at the school I attend are very respectful and enthusiastic towards me, making me enthusiastic about teaching there. It is indeed not easy and this is a new challenge for me because I have to learn more in terms of language and adapt to a new place.
